Return Policy
This Return Policy explains how customers may request the return of goods supplied by VKB Equipments. It covers agricultural machinery, construction equipment, parts, attachments, implements, trailers, accessories, used components, and salvage products.
Each request is assessed according to the reason for return, product condition, transaction terms, and applicable South African law. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Return Authorisation
Customers must contact VKB Equipments before sending or transporting goods back. Unauthorised returns may be refused or delayed while the transaction is identified.
A return request should include the customer name, telephone number, order or invoice number, product description, part number, machine make and model, serial number where relevant, reason for return, date the issue was discovered, details of installation or use, and photographs or videos.
Approved requests will receive return instructions. Heavy components and complete machines may require specialised collection, lifting, loading, or delivery arrangements.
Return Window for Qualifying Online Purchases
A qualifying consumer may cancel an electronic transaction within seven days after receiving the goods where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies. The customer must notify VKB Equipments in writing within that period and pay the direct cost of returning the goods.
Products excluded by law from the cooling off right remain excluded. These may include customer specific goods, personalised items, and goods that cannot reasonably be returned because of their nature.
Inspection on Delivery
Customers should inspect goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery or collection. Check the product identity, quantity, visible condition, accessories, packaging, and delivery documents.
Visible transport damage should be recorded on the carrier’s document where practical. Take photographs before moving, operating, or unpacking damaged goods. Keep the packaging, labels, pallet, manuals, and accessories until the matter has been assessed.
Incorrect Goods
Contact us promptly where the product received does not match the accepted order. Do not install, modify, paint, weld, programme, or dismantle an incorrect item.
Once a supply error is confirmed, VKB Equipments will provide an appropriate remedy and return instructions.
Defective Goods
Customers should report suspected defects with enough information for an initial assessment. We may request operating details, installation records, maintenance history, diagnostic information, photographs, videos, or an independent report.
Certain products require specialist inspection. Engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, pumps, final drives, axles, and electronic modules may need testing before the cause of failure can be established.
A replacement component is not automatically defective because it did not resolve a separate machine fault. Correct diagnosis remains important before a part is ordered or installed.
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, goods that fail the applicable quality standards may be returned within six months after delivery, and the consumer may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Act.
Voluntary Change of Mind Returns
Beyond a statutory right, VKB Equipments may consider a voluntary return within fourteen calendar days after delivery for standard stock goods that are unused, uninstalled, clean, undamaged, complete, and in original saleable packaging.
Approval remains discretionary. The customer is responsible for return transport, and reasonable handling or restocking costs may apply where permitted by law.
Products Normally Excluded From Voluntary Return
Voluntary returns are not normally accepted for special order goods, imported products sourced for one customer, custom manufactured items, programmed electronic units, opened electrical parts, installed components, cut or modified products, lubricants, chemicals, seals, filters, bearings, gaskets, or clearance goods sold with disclosed faults.
Used engines, transmissions, hydraulic units, and salvage parts supplied for a confirmed application may also be excluded from voluntary change of mind returns. This does not remove rights relating to defective or incorrectly supplied goods.
Used Equipment and Salvage Products
Used equipment may show scratches, corrosion, faded paint, repairs, dents, replaced components, and ordinary wear. Condition varies between individual products.
Customers should review photographs, descriptions, quotations, and inspection information before purchase. High value used machinery should be inspected personally or by a qualified independent inspector.
Return Packaging and Transport
Returned goods must be packed securely. Heavy components should be drained where necessary, sealed against leakage, and fixed to a suitable pallet. Connectors, shafts, fittings, and exposed surfaces should be protected.
The customer may be responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging where the return transport was arranged by the customer.
Assessment and Outcome
Receiving a returned product does not automatically approve the claim. Following assessment, VKB Equipments may approve a refund, replacement, repair, store credit, or rejection with reasons.
Return requests must be sent to sales@vkbequipments.co.za. Customers may also call Phone: +27 634159880 or WhatsApp: +27634159880 for assistance.
